Below is an e-mail we recieved from Mike LeBlanc, the gentleman who took the initiative to arrange back-to-back screenings of CHOSIN in St. Louis this past weekend. The events were a great success and Mike raised over $1000 to help veterans in his area! Thanks for all of your hard work, Mike!

——————————————————————————————————–

It was a very powerful two nights. The snow storm almost got us cancelled but the High School opened its auditoriumand the venue was great. There was attendance of about 200 total. Our local Marine Corps Reserve Center 3/24 got called out to do a burial on Saturday of a young hero in central Illinois so the Color Guard was not as tight as we wanted. The Gateway Chapter of “The Chosin Few’ did attend with about twelve members and there were three families of deceased members so it was emotionally charged also. It was a night we will all remember. Everyone came to me afterwards and were glad they attended and stated “I was moved”. We performed the Missing Man ceremony before the movie which added to the experience.

We raised a net of about $1200 which will be split 50/50 between the Missouri Veterans Home and the Injured Marine fund of my Marine Corps League detachment.

Mike LeBlanc
